F A Q
What is goAML?
goAML is an electronic platform of the UAE Financial Intelligence Unit through which reporting entities submit reports and disclosures required under AML/CFT regulations, including STRs and SARs.
Who is required to register with goAML?
Registration is required for organizations classified as reporting entities based on their activities and applicable regulatory framework. In particular, the UAE Ministry of Economy specifies this requirement for Designated Non-Financial Businesses and Professions (DNFBPs).
What are the stages of the registration process?
First, access is set up through the Services Access Control Manager (SACM). Once the account credentials are obtained, the organization and its users are registered directly in the goAML system.
What information is required for registration?
Typically, the required information includes company details, the trade license and registration number, information about the supervisory authority, and details of the responsible officer. The exact set of documents depends on the company’s category and the regulator’s requirements.
What should be done after access is granted?
User settings must be reviewed, an internal procedure for assessing suspicious transactions should be established, and the responsible officer must be prepared to submit the required reports through goAML.
